Good memories… This was back in February 2007 when the guys were working hard to get the platform up and running. No time for lunch, pop-corn instead… Back then, the office was really any place where laptops could be plugged in… At the far end, you see Amin Mirzaee and counterclockwise from there, you see Samuel Cormier Iijima and then Pooya Eslamdoust… These are some of the smartest guys you’ll ever meet. bOK was developed by the guys in this picture and all due credit should go to them… All of them have done great things even before bOK…
Sam, for example, developed the Python Interface to the Facebook API… impressive since about 10% of all facebook applications out there are built on top of his interface… good job Sam! Sam is also a musician who has one many national awards… Amin was the captain of the New York City Math Team amongst other things and was also the youngest person (at age 18) to work as an investment banking intern for Deutsche bank on Wall Street… Pooya has been developing games and other applications since he got his hands on a computer… Sam and Amin are still students @ McGill. Pooya is a student at Humber College…
All in all, these guys are awesome! Still being teenagers, these guys have developed one heck of a system… Glad to know them!

Finally, we’ve revamped our international calling features and now you can bOK almost all worldwide destinations!
This is great news because now you get ridiculously low VoIP rates to almost anywhere!

How Does it Work?
- Just like regular bOK: send a text message containing your friend’s number to bOK (613.614.0285) and bOK will connect you and your friend.
- The difference is that because this is a paid service, you need to deposit money into your account first.
- So, log onto your bOK account and then just add some money through paypal and you are ready to bOK internationally.

Well, great news! bOK recently posted an application on Facebook.
When you add the bOK application to your Facebook profile,
- Your friends will see “bOK him” or “bOK her” under your profile picture (just like the poke option).
- If a friend clicks on the “bOK him” or “bOK her” button, your phone will ring and their phone will ring, and when you pick up, you will be connected and can talk to each other for as long as you want for FREE.
Why is this cool?
- You don’t have to remember your friend’s phone number.
- All calls you originate are “incoming” and hence local (i.e. you make long distance calls as if they were local).
- If you have an unlimited incoming call plan, your phone call is completely free and you won’t use up your minutes.

So, we successfully launched bOK on a beta basis (i.e. we’re still testing… so, there may be bugs in the system and occasional downtime)… Please continue to send us your comments so we can improve the service… For a limited time,
- We will not charge you for any calls you make to destinations in the US & Canada.
- So, you can make local and long distance calls anywhere you want in this region.
If you have unlimited incoming calls,
- you won’t use up any of the minutes in your cell phone plan as all phone calls initiated through bOK are incoming in nature
If you don’t have unlimited incoming calls,
- you can still benefit from bOK because you can make long distance calls for local rates.
- you can also make calls to international destinations for cheap.
